Christmas Boxes
This is a live design project with Newstead Abbey. The artifacts produced by you in collaboration with your peers during this project may be displayed at Newstead Abbey as part of the Christmas celebration 2020. The project uses Newstead’s 2020 Christmas theme, ‘Nutcracker’, to help you to develop your ability and understanding of what designers for stage and screen do and how they work, collaborating to generate ideas to illustrate narrative with excitement, imagination, and originality. You will be working in a group of four students. The project gives you the opportunity to demonstrate knowledge and skills by collaborating in research; design; making; communication; self-management and professional practice.
Working collaboratively, I and the two film and tv students and the one costume student sat down and came up with a concept and design after doing individual research. The goal was to create a story between the boxes and for them to all look cohesive. We worked on them individually and updated each other on our progress whilst collaboratively updating the presentation PowerPoint that we would rehearse and present. We met up to place our boxes together and to wrap them up making them look like presents.
